School of Civil and Architectural Engineering

The School of Civil and Architectural Engineering was established in 2013 and is one of the key schools established to serve the needs of regional economic development and the rapid development of GTVTC. The school currently has 107 faculty members, including 4 doctors or current doctoral students. The proportion of graduate certificates and degrees is 66.7%. There are 7 professors and professor level senior engineers, 35 associate professors and senior engineers with senior professional titles, and 35 teachers holding intermediate professional titles. The proportion of double qualification teachers is 50%. One person has been selected for the Thousand Young and Middle aged Backbone Teachers Training Program in Guangxi's higher education institutions, and one person has been selected for the second level of the 20th batch of "Ten Hundred Thousand" Talent Project in Guangxi. There are over 5200 college students (including the number of the partner educational institutions). Since 2020, the school has jointly trained 90 undergraduate students with Guangxi University for Nationalities and Beibu Gulf University. In 2023, it was selected as a demonstration department for the comprehensive reform of "Three Comprehensive Education" in Guangxi universities.

At present, the school has a Department of Digital Construction and Inspection and a Department of Municipal Landscape. There are six majors offered, including Construction Engineering Technology, Engineering Cost, Municipal Engineering Technology, Landscape Engineering Technology, Architectural Design, and Civil Engineering Testing Technology. The urban rail transit engineering technology professional group led by the school has been selected as a high-level professional group in Guangxi. Four majors, including construction engineering technology, engineering cost, municipal engineering technology, and civil engineering testing technology, have been selected as high-level professional groups in Guangxi. The construction engineering technology major was recognized as a backbone major of the National Innovation Action Plan in 2019.

The school has been certified as one engineering research center in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, selected as a national demonstration virtual simulation training base project and a comprehensive transportation virtual simulation training base for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (Guangxi). It has also been selected as one of the first "dual qualification teacher" teacher training bases in Guangxi vocational colleges. It has one national demonstration training base aided by the central government finance, two autonomous region demonstration training bases, a 19000 square meter campus training base, and 27 training rooms including a BIM engineering technology research center and a construction engineering training center. It has also been selected as a pilot program for the "1+X" prefabricated vocational skill level certificate system, a pilot program for the "1+X" digital application of engineering cost vocational skill level certificate system, and a training and examination center for key professional positions in the construction site of housing and urban-rural construction in Guangxi. It has jointly built off campus training bases with more than 90 companies, including Guangxi Construction Engineering Group and central State-owned enterprises based in Guangxi. In recent years, significant achievements have been made in education and teaching, cultivating a large number of outstanding talents in the field of architecture for society. The annual employment rate has reached over 94%, and graduates are highly praised by employers.

In recent years, the school has continuously made new breakthroughs in education and teaching reform, winning 2 Guangxi Teaching Achievement Awards. The teachers have won 3 national level awards and 27 provincial and ministerial level awards in the National and Guangxi Vocational College Skills Competition Teaching Ability Competition; the students have won 2 awards in the National Vocational College Skills Competition, 32 awards in the Guangxi Vocational College Skills Competition, and more than 80 awards in the municipal level skills competition. They have also won more than 40 provincial and ministerial level awards in the "Challenge Cup" and the China International College Student Innovation Competition, achieving a new breakthrough in the landmark achievements of "Double High" construction.
