On November 10th, 2023, the Guangxi International Chinese Teacher Teaching Skills Competition came to an end at Guangxi Vocational and Technical College. Three teachers from the Collegewere awarded first prize, second prize, and third prize respectively. Among them, Teacher Lu Licheng won the first prize, Teacher Zhang Ying won the second prize, and Teacher Wen Shaochun won the third prize.
This is another impressive transcript after the College's international students achieved excellent results in the Chinese character dictation competition last week, demonstrating the strong comprehensive strength of the College's international Chinese teacher team.
As the only school where three contestants were qualified for the finals, the effectiveness of our international Chinese teacher team has also been fully recognized by the organizers of the competition.
The Guangxi International Chinese Teacher Teaching Skills Competition is organized by the Foreign Student Education Management Professional Committee of the Guangxi Higher Education Association, and is open to teachers from higher education institutions in Guangxi that offer international Chinese related courses. Each college can select up to three teachers to participate, and undergraduate and vocational school teachers compete on the same stage.
The competition was divided into two stages: the preliminary stage and the final stage. The preliminary stage was held from July to August 2023, and the content was based on the international Chinese language courses offered by the college. A video of the course was recorded, and the final stage involved submitting lesson plans and perform a no-student classroom-teaching.
In order to make good use of this platform to promote teaching through competitions, our ASEAN International School selected participating teachers, and the General Teaching Department and Teacher Development Center cooperated to provide resource support, teaching guidance, and psychological support to participating teachers. From the preliminary competition to the final competition, we repeatedly polished our entries and ultimately achieved excellent results.
