On March 25, 2023, the ASEAN International School invited Chinese teachers and students from our college's service team of "Four Establishments, Brocade Inheritance, and Frontier Dreams" to hold the China-ASEAN Cultural Exchange Festival - Zhuang Brocade Culture Theme event day. Our college's international students from countries such as Indonesia, Laos, East Timor, Cambodia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo gathered together with the teachers and students of the Li Brocade Inheritance Service Group to learn about Guangxi Zhuang brocade culture in China, exchange clothing cultures of various countries, and experience the production technology of traditional Zhuang brocade costumes.

Zhuang brocade is one of the treasures of the intangible cultural heritage of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Its unique patterns and colorful colors can be called a masterpiece of traditional Chinese arts and crafts. In this China-ASEAN Cultural Exchange Festival, student representatives of the college's Li Brocade Inheritance Service Group, through a combination of multimedia and on-site demonstrations, introduced the history, cultural background and production techniques of Zhuang brocade to international students from various countries, attracting international students to enhance their interest in Chinese culture and their confidence and motivation in learning vocational skills and competencies in addition to their professional knowledge in the weekdays.

During the event, the concept of "Chinese language +vocational skills" was embodied. While learning about Zhuang brocade culture and related Chinese expressions, international students also quickly experienced and practiced the vocational skills of making Zhuang brocade craft products. After learning the pattern design and sewing method of Zhuang brocade, the international students unleashed their imagination and creativity to combine their own culture with the Zhuang brocade culture of Guangxi, China, and drew various patterns on sachets, creating beautiful picture scrolls of Chinese and foreign cultures mingling. During the production process, the international students had in-depth exchanges with the teachers and students of the school's Li Brocade Inheritance Service Group, and the scene was filled with happy laughters and cheerful voices.

The students who participated in the activity said that after today's exchanges, the charm of traditional Chinese culture and the colorful customs of the cultures of other countries in the world were perfectly integrated, which enhanced mutual understanding and friendship. It is hoped that more such activities will be held in the college in the future, so as to further promote the exchange and mutual learning between Chinese culture and cultures of other countries and make positive contributions to building a China-ASEAN community of shared future.
