To deepen the international students' understanding of the excellent traditional Chinese culture and promote cultural exchange and integration between China and foreign countries, on April 18, 2023, ASEAN International School, in conjunction with the Department of Physical Education, organized a Chinese culture experience activity for all international students.

      Due to the upcoming traditional "Double-Third festival" in Guangxi, international students wear beautiful ethnic costumes to participate in various activities. The activity takes national sports as the starting point. The students first watched the students from the Martial Arts Association demonstrate traditional martial arts skills - such as swords, spears, cudgels and clubs, then followed the teachers to learn the basic movements of traditional martial arts Changquan, and had friendly exchanges with the students from the Martial Arts Association. Afterwards, the students also participated in activities such as bamboo dancing and catching embroidered balls with pack baskets. Although international students had never been exposed to these sports before, they quickly mastered the skills under the teaching and demonstration of teachers and domestic students, dancing joyfully with the crisp bamboo sounds, and throwing and catching embroidered balls skillfully and tacitly through movement changes.

While feeling the traditional Chinese culture, the international students also showed their demeanor to the Chinese teachers and students. At the opening ceremony of the "Double-Third Festival at the Zhuang Nationality Township, Carnival at Transport College", the international students danced enthusiastically with the theme song of the ASEAN Games "Chasing the Stars", showing the enthusiasm, friendliness and sportsmanship of the people of ASEAN countries, and realizing the integration of Chinese national culture and ASEAN culture.

     This event allowed international students to feel more intuitively how traditional Chinese culture is integrated with life. The melodious folk songs and interesting national sports not only reflect the local customs, but also condense the wisdom of the working people of all ethnic groups. He Youran, an international student from Indonesia, said that during the "Double-Third of the Zhuang Nationality" festival, we should experience more the beauty of Guangxi and the beauty of the nation, and learn more about Chinese culture through Guangxi, so as to lay the foundation for being a cultural ambassador between China and Indonesia in the future.
