GTVTC Embraces International Exchange for Mutual Benefit and Win-Win Cooperation

The 21st China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit were held from September 24th to 28th, focusing on the theme “Upholding amity, sincerity, mutual benefit and inclusiveness for common development, creating a diamond crown new future - promoting development of a China-ASEAN Free Trade Area 3.0 and high-quality growth of this region”, showcasing the latest achievements in cooperation between China and ASEAN countries.

Guangxi Transport Vocational and Technical College (GTVTC) adheres to serving the China’s opening-up policy and the connectivity of the “Belt and Road Initiative”. Leveraging college’s strengths in transportation majors, GTVCT contributes to the construction of both “hard connectivity” and “soft connectivity” between China and ASEAN countries. During the Expo, GTVTC accelerated communication and exchanges for the construction of the China-Vietnam Institute of Modern Craftsmanship for New Energy Vehicle, achieving phase targets. Additionally, several university and college delegations from ASEAN countries visited GTVTC for in-depth discussions on international talent cultivation, new technology training, and scientific and technological innovation cooperation.

China and Vietnam Jointly Build Modern Craftsmanship Institute

On September 26th, BÙI MẠNH LÂN, Chairman of Dong An Vocational College of Vietnam, visited GTVTC to promote cooperation with our college during the ASEAN Expo. Li Wenyong, President of GTVTC extended a warm welcome to Chairman Bùi Mạnh Lân and his delegation. They had in-depth discussions on the establishment of the China-Vietnam Institute of Modern Craftsmanship for New Energy Vehicle. They fully communicated on the specific tasks of the construction and signed a cooperation agreement to jointly build the China-Vietnam Institute of Modern Craftsmanship for New Energy Vehicle.

The establishment of the China-Vietnam Institute of Modern Craftsmanship for New Energy Vehicle is a project approved by the Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and is an important task jointly built by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. GTVTC has attached great importance to the institute. Through mutual visits and discussions between GTVTC and Dong An Vocational College, they have carefully planned and seriously discussed the promotion of the China-Vietnam Institute of Modern Craftsmanship for New Energy Vehicle in Vietnam, and finally reached an important consensus, completing a key step in promoting the implementation of the project.

Jointly Launching International Talent Cultivation Programs

On September 23rd, a delegation from University of Transport Technology of Vietnam, Vietnam Taiping Hing Sheng Company, and Guangxi Auto gathered at GTVTC to sign a memorandum of understanding of the modern craftsmanship training program for new energy vehicles at the Kunlun Campus. President Li Wenyong attended the signing ceremony and proposed that both sides collaborate to establish a transportation science and technology innovation center and a talent cultivation base, and exchange teachers for study. This is not only an important part of promoting vocational education exchange and cooperation between China and Vietnam but also a significant measure in building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future. Both sides agreed to strengthen communication and earnestly implement the various cooperative contents.

Collaborative IT Talent Training Initiative

On September 24th, a delegation of 5 people led by Dr. SRUN Pagnarith, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation of Cambodia, Dr. LENG Phirom, Vice President of Cambodian University of Science and Technology, along with leaders from Huawei, to visit GTVTC. They visited the training room of School of Transportation Information Engineering and discussed the application of new-generation information technology, big data, and artificial intelligence in the field of transportation. They expressed their hope to send teachers to GTVTC for technical training to assist in the upgrading of traditional industries and the cultivation of information technology talent in Cambodia.

Jointly Building a Scientific Research Platform to Boost Transportation Technology Innovation

On September 25th, during the China-ASEAN Expo, a delegation of 4 people led by Sinthavone Daravong, Vice President of the National University of Laos visited GTVTC. They focused on inspecting the teaching workshop of the School of Road and Bridge Engineering and the practical training base of the School of Automotive Engineering. They had in-depth exchanges with Li Wenyong, President of GTVTC.

President Li Wenyong extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the National University of Laos and expressed his hope to take this opportunity to promote cooperation between both sides in three aspects: the cultivation of international students, transportation technology innovation, and the training of transportation technology and skilled personnel, to promote the cultivation of transportation talent in China and Laos. Both sides should leverage their scientific research strengths to jointly carry out research on cutting-edge transportation technologies, and to jointly promote innovation and development in the transportation industry, serving the construction of the China-ASEAN community with a shared future.

Sinthavone Daravong highly praised the educational level and teaching model of GTVTC, expressing a strong willingness to cooperate. He expressed that as one of the best universities in Laos, the National University of Laos has a relatively complete professional system in transportation, and there is a great potential for cooperation with GTVTC. He looks forward to maintaining close communication with our college and exploring opportunities for cooperation in transportation research, talent cultivation, and technical exchange. The delegation also visited the Laotian international students at the college, fully affirmed the college’s training model for international students, and expected them to return to their country after completing their studies to contribute to the development of transportation in Laos.
