On Aug 22-27, 2019, the 45th World Skills Competition was held in Kazan, Russia. To have a better understanding and learning of technical standards, forms and contents of the competition, promote integration of skills competition with international standard, deepen vocational education reform and innovation and continue to advance the level of technical skilled personnel cultivation, Vice principal Chen Haifeng watched the 45th World Skills Competition in Russia at the invitation of the World Skills Competition Organizing Committee. Vice principal Chen also attended TVET LEADERS SPEED DATING within World Skills Kazan 2019 and communicated with more than 100 presidents of different vocational colleges from all over the world about the cultivation of skilled personnel, the integration of international technical skills and other topics. In addition to this, Chen went to Russia School of Economics with other domestic college principals for China-Russia culture exchange. They had discussion about Chinese and Russian teaching system, curriculum, research project, international student exchange and other topics and expressed their shared desire for continuing exchange and cooperation of faculty and technical training.
1335 contestants from 69 countries and regions of World Skills International would compete with each other in 56 events of six categories in the competition. Russian Prime Minister Medvedev gave a speech and announced the opening. Wang Yongqing, vice chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC and Russian President Putin attended the closing ceremony and the handing-over and taking-over ceremony.
