On December 6, 2019, the opening convocation of international students of Grade 2019 was held in classroom 707 in Information Building in Yuanhu campus. Chen Haifeng, Vice principal of GuangXi Transport Vocational and Technical College, attended the convocation and delivered a speech. Chen mentioned that it was a remarkable breakthrough for the College to enroll the first batch of international students, which deserves celebration. That all of the international students came to us indicates the influence of the College. He then awarded college badges and school supplies to freshman international students and expressed his expectation. He hoped that they could adopt a down-to-earth attitude when learning Chinese and academic courses, master practical skills, grow into the builders of the Belt and Road and the witnesses of friendship between China and Thailand, and China and Pakistan.

International student representatives also made a speech to express gratitude to the entire faculty and staff who helped and cared for them, and determination to cherish this valuable opportunity to study in China. They will strive to make progress and try to live up to families and teachers’ expectations.

The opening convocation was hosted by Liu Cunxiang, principal assistance. Other attendants include directors of International Affairs Division, Enrolment and Employment Division, Human Resource Division, College Administration Office, Student Affairs Division, Academic Affairs Division, CYL Committee, Information Engineering Department and General Studies Department.

To extend college’s education influence among countries along the Belt and Road and advance the level of international education cooperation, preparations for the recruitment of international students has been initiated. After declaration, the College was qualified for international student recruitment in the second half of 2019. 22 international students from Thailand and Pakistan have been to college and finished registration so far. We successfully finished declaration, qualification and recruitment work of international student in one year.
