The 2023 China ASEAN Intelligent Logistics Invitational is one of the sub projects of the 2023 China ASEAN Vocational Education Joint Exhibition and Forum. It was hosted by the Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and organized by Guangxi Vocational and Technical College, Guangxi Logistics Vocational Education Teaching Guidance Committee, and Guangxi Logistics Vocational Education Group. The aim is to build a new platform for China ASEAN Intelligent logistics talent exchange, showcase the quality of logistics talent training in vocational colleges, and is a high standard skills competition activity. The competition is organized by two ASEAN international students and one Chinese student in a 2+1 format to form a team, with a total of 18 teams from 13 universities including Guangxi Vocational and Technical College and Tianjin Transportation Vocational and Technical College participating in the competition.
The College attached great importance to this competition. ASEAN International School and the School of Economics and Management selected outstanding players to form teams from the aspects of theoretical foundation, skill level, team awareness, comprehensive quality, and language proficiency of international students. School of Economics and Management arranged Yang Fengsu, an experienced and professional teacher, as the guidance teacher. The Dean of the School of Economics and Management, Yang Jun, provides comprehensive guidance for the team's preparation for the competition. The deputy dean of the ASEAN International School, Yan Li, is responsible for coordinating the preparation training of international students. After receiving invitations to form teams to participating in competitions, team members gathered at the logistics training base every day to review theories, trained in practical operations, and continuously improve the level of teamwork. With preparation from theory to practice, the participating teams overcame difficulties such as short preparation time and lack of equipment, demonstrated a good spirit and professional ability during the competition, and ultimately won the second prize, reflecting the strong teaching strength of the modern logistics management teaching team of the School of Economics and Management and the leading talent cultivation level in China. This marks a new milestone in the path of cultivating international intelligent logistics talents.
LEMUEL KARL, an international student from Indonesia, said that logistics management is closely related to our lives. When preparing for the competition, traveling back and forth between Kunlun and Yuanhu campuses every day is actually a big challenge for me, but I am glad that I have overcome it. I will continue to work hard to learn, cherish the learning opportunities in China, and strive to learn more useful skills.
Ting LOVAXAY, an international student from Laos, said that participating in this competition has allowed her to meet more ASEAN "fellow villagers" studying in China, and has strengthened my confidence in learning knowledge and skills well. During this process, her Chinese proficiency has also improved. She was very grateful to the school for giving opportunities and the guidance and companionship of the teachers.
Chinese student Wei Cheng said that participating in this competition gave him a chance to work with many international student friends. Although the competition results did not meet the expected goals, which was a bit regrettable, he will continue to work hard to improve his professional knowledge and skills, and strive to achieve better results in next year's vocational skills competition.
This is the first time that international students of the College have participated in a professional skills competition. Through this competition, their recognition of vocational education in China has been further enhanced. In the future, the school will actively organize international students to participate in various professional skills competitions, promote learning through competitions, exchange skills, and promote mutual understanding, continuously improving the level of professional internationalization and the quality of international student training.
